Switching Directories With Easy On MS DOS

You'd know if the DOS prompt can only display 8 characters (for a file name and directory). When you want to move directory by typing cd Program Files (for example), then the error will occur. This is because the DOS prompt in the Program Files directory will look into progra ~ 1. This can certainly confuse us. There is an easier way to perform "surgery" on a file or directory that is more than 8 characters. You do this by adding quotation marks. For example: cd "Program Files" to move to the Program Files directory.
